Instead, the area's lit by candlelit or magical lamps, or bioluminescent plants. It's spooky as all hell.

What might be of more concern is the very unamused pale lady staring down the stairs in the foyer at you. Uh-oh.

Luckily, some weirdly colored jackal yiped at you and lead you into a safe spot, so you've got time to get a breather while it gekkers at you loudly!

[ The noise Ritsuka makes is something like HGLIDKGFKSEWR?! and comes accompanied with some flailing and-- oh, hey, it's a pretty lady with kemonomimi. Somewhere there's a Chaldea staff member weeping because he doesn't get to see this. ]

[She claps a hand over Ritsuka's mouth, pulls her in close and holds very still as the mob goes charging on past.

[ Please don't suffocate her, that will be terribly awkward to explain to anyone in Chaldea.

But all Ritsuka really does is try to pull that hand down so it's not covering her nose, at least, and then she finally is a good girl and waits until the thundering footsteps go by.

And finally, after a few seconds, she taps a finger to the back of that hand. Hello?? What is going on here?? ]

Probably? I kind of lost sight of him with the whole, you know, angry pitchfork mob... I thought that sort of thing only really happened in stories.

[ she pauses. The name...that's a fair point, but she's not used to people not knowing. ]

[ That's... such a long name... she blinks a few times, then shakes her head, like she's shaking off the moment. ]

[She feels like she should really object more to that. But she'll just...pick Ritsuka up? Sling her over a shoulder. Um--]

[ It's not a scream! It's more like a cross between a yelp and a croak, but Ritsuka is content to dangle once she's lifted. This is a lot more familiar, in some ways. There have been multiple missions where it becomes "lift Master like a sack of potatoes and abscond from the battlefield with her like that" time. this is fine. ]

[Unfortunately, Naeva's headed towards the danger. She's not good at this.

The good news is, she's fucking terrifying so the mob around the village head doesn't know what the fuck to do.]

[ WELL... it's probably fine if she can transform herself between a human and a jackal. Ritsuka is probably less concerned about this than she probably should be.

(No one has made a lemmings joke to Ritsuka yet. It's probably only a matter of time.) ]

Uhhh, he's the big one. The one with the bad combover.

[ Is he mad because she revealed him to be a ghost or is he mad because she doesn't appreciate his attempts at fashion? ]

And punches that ghost man, which is surprisingly effective given he just rocketed back like 30 feet.

Well, hey, at least Beserkers can be more of the cannon part of glass cannon if they're utilized correctly, and Ritsuka is smart enough to not get in the way.

What she does do, though, is clap politely, because that really seems like the thing to do right now. Whoa. ]
